Charlotte, NC- September 16, 2010-Mellow Mushroom is coming back to Charlotte, North Carolina, and will open its first Charlotte-area pizza bakery on Monday, October 11, at 2820 Selwyn Avenue, Ste. 100, in the Myers Park neighborhood.

Jeffrey and Steven Small, Mark Kieffer, Nabil Boutros and John Fiske, owners, are enthusiastic about bringing Mellow Mushroom back to Charlotte.

Mark Kieffer, , explained why he wanted to bring this concept back to Charlotte. “I grew up in Atlanta, where Mellow started, and fell in love with it. When I moved to Charlotte, I knew Mellow was perfect for this city. ”

The Mellow Mushroom features a creative menu with a wide variety of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones, and recently launched gluten-free crust. You can enjoy a creative atmosphere, along with full bar and 100 premium varieties of draft beer. This Mellow will partner with a different charity every three months, and engage in numerous activities to benefit each charity.

 This Mellow will have unique artwork, including murals from the official Woodstock photographer, Elliot Landy. Come and enjoy the day and evening on the patio, and with music.

The Mellow Mushroom will operate 7 days a week on Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m, and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. For 36 years Mellow Mushroom has been serving up craft pizza in an eclectic, art filled environment.
